The European Employee Ownership TOP 100 in 2006
For the first time in 2006, we published our rankings of Europe's largest companies regarding employee ownership:
EUROCAP100: Companies being ranked by equity held by employees, in millions Euro. Europe's largest companies that are partly or totally employee-owned through an ESOP, Share Purchase Plan, or other Broad-Based Ownership Plan, or as a workers' co-operative.
EUROEMP100
: Companies being ranked by number of employees. Europe's largest companies that are 50% or more employee-owned through an ESOP, Share Purchase Plan, or other Broad-Based Ownership Plan, or as a workers' co-operative. Companies must be at least majority employee owned by at least 50% of their full-time employees or by an ESOP or profit sharing plan to qualify.
See all details here and the ranking 2006

Belgian Programme for employee share ownership: EFES BELGIUM is now very successful in developing its Belgian Programme, including: experts pool, partners network, information, education and training, dissemination of the Spanish model of the sociedades laborales. See the websites on http://www.actionnariat-salarie.be/ (mostly in French anf Dutch) and on http://www.sociedades-laborales.net

Polish website: Thanks to a Leonardo project organized by the University of Krakow, and EFES being a partner, we are now developing a full website in Polish with the help of two Polish students,we have here in Brussels two Polish students: Aleksandra Michalik and Maja Bobruk. You can see the Polish website on http://www.employee-ownership.be/PL/servPL.htm

New European Parliament and Commission: the European Parliament was reelected on June 13, 2004 and we get a new Commission, with new Commissionners and new competences. In this context, we plead for the idea that the competences about employee ownership should move from DG Employment & Social Affairs to DG Enterprises. You can find our arguments in our EFES call to new Parliament and Commission The Commissionners' competences will be decided by the national governments. In this context, all EFES members in all countries could make efforts to lobby their national governments about that. In Belgium, we already discussed the point with our Prime Minister's cabinet and we sent him a personal letter.
