  Much new information about employee ownership in August 2006, with 940  articles in our press review (on which 238 about workers' co-operatives).
We made a selection of 29 articles in 12 countries.
The scandals about stock options got new developments in France and the US (122 articles). All major candidates to French Presidency declared willing to restrain or even forbid stock options in the future. Similar reactions appeared in other countries like Italy, Austria or UK.
Austria: A new wide research was published about employee share ownership and financial participation schemes in Austria.
 France was the hottest place regarding employee ownership in August. The new legislation is going to be voted by the Parliament in autumn, while AXA launched its new employee share ownership plan.
Germany: the German "Mitbestimmung" (co-decision) has now 30 years and some reflections are done about the future.
Ireland:  Eircom issue being now concluded (Eircom's Employee Share Ownership Trust from 21.5% to 35%), the air company Aer Lingus will be the next, privatisation  bringing wider place for employee ownership.
United Kingdom: Royal Mail continues to work on its controversial new employee share scheme.
USA: SAIC - one of the biggest employee-owned company in the world (43.000 workers) – decided to go public, but new obstacles have to be faced. A number of articles give interesting examples of employee ownership in companies (UPS, Sheridan, CI Travel, Delta Medical Center). On the other hand, be careful with "ESOP fables": Hundreds of workers at Hoover Co. (the vacuums) are searching for a way to buy their company, but experts say adopting an employee stock ownership plan to save jobs is a tough route.

   Beaucoup d'informations nouvelles sur l'actionnariat salarié en août 2006, avec 940 articles dans cette revue de presse (dont 238 à propos de coopératives de travailleurs actionnaires).
Notre sélection propose 29 articles dans 12 pays.
Les scandales des stock options ont connu de nouveaux développements en août en France et aux Etats-Unis (122 articles). En France, tous les principaux candidats à la Présidence ont affirmé vouloir limiter ou même interdire les stock options. Des réactions similaires se sont exprimées dans d'autres pays comme l'Italie, l'Autriche, le Royaume Uni.
Autriche: Publication d'une vaste étude sur l'actionnariat salarié en Autriche (voir d'autre part dans cette newsletter).
 France a été la place la plus chaude pour l'actionnariat salarié au mois d'août (243 articles de presse). La nouvelle législation devrait être votée à l'automne, tandis que le groupe AXA a procédé au lancement d'un nouveau plan d'actionnariat salarié dans 32 pays.
Allemagne: la "Mitbestimmung" allemande (co-décision) fête ses 30 ans, d'où un certain nombre de réflexions sur l'avenir.
Irlande:  L'affaire Eircom étant conclue (le Trust d'actionnariat salarié voyant sa part monter de 21% à 35%), c'est le tour de la compagnie aérienne irlandaise Aer Lingus. La privatisation devrait donner une place plus solide à l'actionnariat salarié.
Royaume Uni: Royal Mail continue à travailler sur un nouveau plan de privatisation et d'actionnariat salarié. 
USA: SAIC – une des grande entreprises contrôlées par son actionnariat salarié (43.000 personnes) – a décidé d'entrer en bourse, mais de nombreux obstacles apparaissent. Plusieurs articles donnent d'intéressant exemples d'actionnariat salarié d ans des entreprises (UPS, Sheridan, CI Travel, Delta Medical Center). D'autre part, prenons garde aux fables de l'actionnariat salarié "ESOP fables": des centaines de travailleurs de Hoover (les aspirateurs) sont à la recherche d'une solution pour racheter leur entreprise, mais les experts disent qu'il est très difficile de relancer une entreprise en difficultés.

Los escándalos de los stock options conocieron nuevos desarrollos en agosto en Francia y en EEUU (122 artículos). En Francia, todos los principales candidatos a la Presidencia afirmaron querer limitar o prohibir los stock options. Reacciones similares en otros países como Italia, Austria y el Reino Unido.
Austria : publicación de un vasto informe sobre el accionariado asalariado en Austria (ver por otra parte en esta newsletter).
Francia :  fue el lugar mas caliente para el accionariado asalariado en el mes de agosto (243 artículos de prensa). La nueva legislación deberia ser votada en otoño, mientras quel grupo AXA procedió al lanzamiento de uno nuevo plan de accionariado asalariado en 32 países.
Alemania : la « Mitbestimmung » allemana (co-decisión) festeja sus 30 años, con ciertas reflexiones sobre el porvenir.

Varios artículos dan interesantes ejemplos de accionariado asalariado en empresas (UPS, Sheridan, CI Travel, Delta Medical Center). Por otra parte, teniendo en cuanta las fábulas del accionariado asalariado (« ESOP fables ») : centenares de trabajadores de Hoover (los aspiradores) estan buscando una solución para comprar su empresa, pero los expertos dicen que es muy dificil lanzar de nuevo una empresa con dificultades.
